About James:
James Kyle Davis is a native Kansan who received his MFA in Lighting Design from Western Illinois University. James is an Assistant Professor of Lighting and Sound at Kansas State University. His teaching credits over the years include Lighting Design, Stage Management, Arts Management, Sound Design, 3D Rendering for Lighting, Play Analysis, and Fundamentals of Lighting and Sound. James has also worked as a professional Lighting, Sound, and Projection Designer as well as an AEA Stage Manager for theatre companies across the United States.
Last summer James ended his 14th summer at the Clinton Area Showboat Theatre, a SPT 2 Equity summer stock in Clinton, Iowa. During his time there he served as the Executive Producer, General Manager, and Resident Lighting Designer. During his time as the Executive Producer he managed the full operations and creative direction of the company in addition to designing or stage managing their season.

Currently, James lives in Manhattan, Kansas and enjoys playing the bass guitar, woodworking, and bladesmithing in his free time. James is married to his beautiful wife Jordan and they have two dogs, Sully and Sam. For more of James' credits click the Resume/CV button located to the right.
